Low Lead Brass
The lead amount included in the products used for drinking water is
tightly controlled under regulations and those regulations are becoming fur more
stringent recently.
As one of the examples, the amendment for US Federal Low SDWA (Safe Drinking Water Act)
“S.3874” was enacted on January 4, 2014. This regulation limits the content of lead in
all materials used for products which contact with drinking water to be 0.25% or less.
SAN-ETSU METALS can provide a solution, low lead brass rod, based on the abundant
know-how accumulated through the lead free brass rod manufacturing experiences.
■Low Lead Brass Rod Properties
Low lead brass rod includes no new additives to replace lead. Therefore, there is no need of a separate control or handling of chips from the traditional free-cutting brass rod and dezincing resistant brass rod.
Lead amount 0.2% or less JIS C3603 and C3604 replacement (EN standard CW510L compliant) Low lead free-cutting brass rod. Well balanced recyclability and machinability.
Lead amount 0.25% or less JIS C3531 replacement Low lead dezincing resistant brass rod Z00. No need of heat treatment after hot forming with a high dezincing resistant and corrosion resistant performance.
Lead amount 0.25% or less JIS C3531 replacement Low lead dezincing resistant brass rod Z34. The highly evaluated best level of dezincing resistant and erosion/corrosion resistant performance is carried over.
